I have this idea for a shot:
Its with a steadicam (Glidecam) shot on DV.

We open in a party crowd. We hear the main character talking and we have a low down steadicam shot passes through the crowd. Almost like searching for who is talking and then we find the person talking.

Here is the problem: We have this 1 minute cont. shot (opening with credits) and this person talking the whole time and then in the same shot we find the person talking and steadicam in for a close up shot. How should the mic be placed.

I use a Audio Technica Long Shot long mounted on a boom pole. Should I rent a lav and hide it or should I decide to stop the steadicam shot in a wide shot (cause its wide angle lens) so that I can use the dialog from another take. This way people wont notice the out of sync sound and then cut to Closes ups?

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

I not shure about how a mini disk plugs into the computer. Do I need a special card or does it use a USB port or something?

    Lightbulb

Minidisc can be connected to a PC through
    a normal Line-In jack.
Or for optimum quality, if you have a
sound card with the appropriate hook up, use
    Optical-In fibre optic cable.

    simple.

Now all you've got to worry about is
    learning how operate a steadycam.

    Minidisc!

I had to get a MZR9000 (I think) because it was the only one with a line out option. Be sure to check that or your quality will be gone!

    cheers

    I don't think so. I'll check tonight.

But all of the other ones I looked at only had headphone out!

PS If you have a BHS nearby, the chaps in there are very helpful regarding the equipment specs. If they'd had the MD in stock there I would have got it!
